What we do
The chapter conducts a number of professional events some of which are organized in partnership with other IIT’s and IIM’s also. The following are our flagship events.
Startup Master Class (SMC) started as an event to create a platform to help startups in Bangalore. Now it has grown into a Pan India event, being held in multiple cities.
Social Enterprises & Entrepreneurs (SEE) was an offshoot of SMC meant specifically for startups in Social area. Now it has acquired a persona of its own and matured into a platform for all kind of social enterprises and the event is being held in multiple locations all over India.
Technical Seminars & Workshops
A number of technical seminars and workshops are organized as per the interests shown by alumni.
Bullet Proof Workshops are held almost every month for startups to be mentored and coached by Mr. Ravi Challu. A number of startups have benefited from these free workshops.
The calendar for the events, seminars, workshops is given above.
Social Get Togethers
One of the main objectives of the chapter is to increase social interaction between alumni and families of alumni. The functions could be an all-day out picnic or a cultural evening with all kind of activities for the kids, spouses and alumni. Normally such functions are held at Holi, Diwali but can happen any time as per the events calendar.
Alumni & Alma Mater Support
The chapter strives to help the alma mater in achieving excellence in areas of Academics, Innovation, R&D and any other issue. Alumni play a pivotal role in IIT-Industry connect, fund raising for the alma mater, helping in providing industry subject matter experts as Adjunct Faculty or speakers at seminars. Chapter will ike to help in placements and arranging internships.
Interaction with other chapters has also been found to be very useful for mutual benefit of Alumni and IITK.
